It’s June 1st and time to really start our adventure. When we left Austin, our intention was to spend a few weeks in Wellington and then fly to Rhodes. Since our stay lasted longer than expected, we decided to reassess our situation. I was waiting on one more document to be apostilled to complete my application for dual citizenship at the Greek Consulate in Houston. We feared we would have little notice when our appointment came up, so we decided to remain in the States until then. After spending two months in 85+ tropical weather, the idea of a cooler climate seemed appealing. Hence, Seneca Lake, which is one of the finger lakes in upper New York state. Highs in the 70s, lows in the 50s. Not too shabby.

The little icon of David is where we are staying – Stivers Marina. Our AirBnB is right on top of the Ships Store at the marina, and looks directly over the marina. No frills one bedroom/bath with full kitchen and cute living area that overlooks the marina. The Tiki Bar serves drinks and food.

We even got to see a sailboat being placed in the water after a good cleaning

Plenty of places to explore in the area. Many trails and interesting places to eat. Here are just a few:
